The Arthurs Seat Hillclimb will not return to the event list until there is a change of heart from some of the local residents/businesses who do not wish to have the tourist road closed for the day. The Austin7 Club will only consider running the event if and when there is an approach from the authorities in the area.

Arthurs Seat Hillclimb didn't happen this Fathers Day simply because it all got too hard for the organisers. First CAMS in their wisdom insisted on concrete barriers, rather than the water barriers we had been using. Adding considerably to the expense. Then, apparently, CAMS weren't happy about insurance cover for the casual traders on the hill. Then the regular traders weren't happy about agreeing to have us there (the hill used to be closed for only one day a year - us- now it has five closed days. And so it went on until it was too late to continue the organisation necessary. Anyway there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel, even if nothing happens this year.
